Preserving heritage with a single source of truth: a data platform for Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten

One trusted data foundation and role-based dashboards for a heritage property portfolio.
Apr 2025

Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten is a Dutch non-profit with a clear mission: preserving historic and monumental buildings for future generations. Across a portfolio of unique heritage properties, the organisation has to balance financial sustainability with cultural impact. That balance demands clear insight, reliable data and minimal operational overhead.

Data was spread across multiple systems and reports, which made a consistent, reliable view of the organisation hard to get. Leadership wanted to:

  • Closely monitor cashflow and overall financial performance
  • Understand and safeguard the impact on its historic properties
  • Gain insight into visitor behaviour at its museum houses
  • Manage maintenance, renovations and letting more effectively
  • Reduce dependency on manual reporting and fragmented sources

The question: how do you bring everything together without adding complexity?

‍

One trusted foundation, role-based dashboards on top

Technology alone does not create value. Real impact comes from aligning data solutions with how an organisation actually operates. Together with Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten we designed and built a central data platform that acts as a single source of truth: financial, operational and visitor data consolidated into one foundation, so everyone works with the same numbers, definitions and insights.

  • Financial performance & cashflow: reporting goes from a monthly scramble to a continuous, trustworthy view of money flowing in and out of the portfolio.
  • Visitor behaviour: visitor numbers across the museum houses in one place, informing programming, opening hours and capacity.
  • Maintenance planning: condition, schedule and spend visible per property, not buried in separate tools.
  • Letting & occupancy: occupancy, contracts and tenant operations linked to financial outcomes.
  • Renovation projects: progress, budget and impact on each property tracked alongside everything else.
  • One language across the organisation: shared definitions and metrics, so finance, operations and curatorial teams discuss the same numbers.

The goal was never “more data”, but clarity, trust and better decisions.

From fragmented reports to a foundation you can steer on

The data platform and dashboards let Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten operate from one single source of truth, and spend less time producing numbers and more time acting on them.

  • A single source of truth across finance, operations and visitors
  • Role-based dashboards for finance, visitors, maintenance, letting and renovations
  • Significantly less manual reporting and reconciliation
  • Capacity freed up to focus on preserving monumental buildings

Why this matters

Real estate organisations, heritage or commercial, run on data spread across many systems. A trusted data foundation turns that data into clear, actionable dashboards, so teams can do more of what matters with less overhead.
